United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey
Side steps

Hi

I just picked up some oe style side steps from LRParts.net. Great service and great prices.

I got the pre cut sills with them. Hopefully a good decision.

They were cheapest by far that I could find.

Going to try fitting them this weekend.

If anyone has done it before, what's the best way to remove the little
Push in plastic clips under the car? I'm thinking screwdriver or similar?

Also does anyone know if this is classes as a "modification" that you need to inform your insurance about?

Thanks

Here you are Thumbs Up Much easier if you have a spare pair of hands, should take about 1 hour a side tops Thumbs Up The plastic clips will break no matter what you use to get them off, use your new ones supplied. Regarding classed as a modification, just tell your insurance company that they are fitted to your motor so that you are covered either way, i don't think they are classed as a modification but better to tell them anyway, how you tell them thats upto you Wink

Just to say that I have just fitted a set (again from LR Parts with precut trims - £162 inc VAT & Delivery next day).
Instructions are not the best but quite adequate.
Where the bolts fit underneath I found I needed to use a tap to clear out the threads.
Removing the front trim by the front wheel is easier if you turn the wheel away.
Removing the rear trim is a real pain! The self tappers are pretty rusty and difficult to get started to remove them.
It would be far easier to remove the rear wheels!
I made up a tool to remove the clips but as Ady says I still broke quite a few.
If I had not been diverted onto other jobs no doubt it would only take about an hour each side. Current: MY15 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Aruba Gold, HUD, Meridian 1700w
