I think Jim4244 recently fitted one, see this thread here

This was the last I saw him write on the matter:

After my recent accident with the dreaded White Van Man I will be purchasing 2 cameras, one for Mrs Jim's FL2 and one for my RRS.
If it had not been for the other driver admitting liability at the scene to the Police (he later tried to retract this) that I would have been well and truely Censored !
If I had a camera already installed then the other driver would not have had a leg to stand on, if he hadn't already admitted liability to the Old Bill........

I have been thinking about it for a while seeing the poor standard of driving around and some near misses Sad

This month I have had a wagon veer into me on a motorway, swerved to avoid a ladder on a motorway and been reversed into in a car park - so decided enough is enough Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I fitted the Road Hawk camera to my RRS and my wifes FL2.

They switch on when you turn on the ignition and quietly record everything happening in front of you while you drive.

We don't even notice them anymore.

I go luke warm with these...not saying they are bad.

But for me the most important part is when you NOT in the car that i want to know about.

I saw some reversing/front sensors that, worked normally then monitored for movement after you left the car and used the horn, hazards and headlights if a car got too close...that where i would want a camera - for all the inconsiderate cu Censored ts around that drive, scratch dent or damage your car and leave you with a bill Mike

I have now fitted the Blackvue but it may have been too late for one incident at least Embarassed

Last month a woman reversed into our Mini while I was stationary causing damage to the front bumper - she tried to drive off but couldn't due to her tow bar getting stuck Confused

She got out of the car with a crutch and couldn't apologise enough telling me her insurance would sort everything and she never saw me. I felt sorry for her so turned down the courtesy car when mine went in because I could manage with one car Confused

She is now claiming I drove into her and produced a taxi driver who saw me run into her Shocked

I have lost 2 sales on the mini and had to fork out £300 excess. I have been waiting 4 weeks for cctv from the station car park where it happened and if I don't get it I will lose my excess, SWMBO's no claim bonus and face increased premiums next year Evil or Very Mad

I have spoken to the Police who advise it is a civil matter and can not help but when I told him about buying the blackvue he said you need them because everyone lies now Thud

I will not go anywhere without the blackvue now Banging Head Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
