Many thanks Barnsnape, i'm not too bothered about MPG as i know they run at about 25 MPG, but was thinking if i get an extrA 2-3 MPG it all helps the old kitty. If yours made no difference did you get a full refund as many are offering this if your not happy within 14 days? |

No I did the remap for the driving pleasure it brought. The on tap torque, at a rev range you can use it is quite stunning.

yer thats fine, so you will understand if you want real performance, you will loose MPG cant have best of both worlds lol. Yer iv got ac cobra as a toy but having a toy is two different ball games. |

To a point, a remap can dial-out some of the "detuning" manufactureres put into their engine maps to favour fuel economy at the key measured speeds (56 mph for example) to make their published figures look better. In real life this could mean a slight drop of torque at the appropriate revs which translates in you working the throttle harder to make up for it. It's barely noticeable. A remap can even these things out, making the car smoother to drive and thus improve MPG if driven the same way. Of course, once remapped, people tend to drive harder because they have more power and see an MPG degradation as a result, however, it might be less severe than if you drove the same way without it ![]() ![]() "Roads ? Anyone got graphs showing where in the rev range and for for long these improvements in power and torque are evident? |

on a slighty different note, i had mine remapped 6 weeks ago, by the time i got home 25 miles, it was smoking like hell, checked up on here, and a few people thought it was normal, over the next week the smoking got worse, so i had it taken off, the smoking calmed down a bit but was still in evident, i rang the guy back as i wasnt happy, however he was on holiday for a few weeks, but assured me he had put my orginal map back on.
