The option is definitely there on autologic; to select it as not fitted - as I toyed with turning it on... that's on the 2013MY - i cant see why it wouldnt be an option on earlier years Mike

i don't know if its the same whine your having, but on my FL2 (and all the others i have driven) there is a electronic high pitch whine when you turn it off I understand its the electronic throtle resetting its self.

Thanks - I'll have another word with the dealer and see whether they can change the settings to 'not fitted'. |

This is a series of short squeaks for 5 seconds or so, rather than a longer whine. I'm not sure if the TPMS sensors would work in these wheels, as in common with a number of other owners with 22" rims, I've had to increase the tyre pressures over factory settings, otherwise the tyres look under-inflated and are virtually running on the shoulders. When I took the car back to the dealer, they said they couldn't do anything unless the tyres were at recommended pressures, so they returned them to normal. All this achieved was to make the traction/skid control cut in even more frequently. |

Dealers can sometimes be simple though - they dont use autologic (although there system can do the same), so a good independent might be in order. Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Thanks - I've used TFC from the Disco3 forum for all my servicing/maintenance for the past few years and he tried to change the TPMS settings a few months back. According to his diagnostic computer, (no idea of make/type), he had switched off TPMS, but it still flashed up the same warnings when I drove it, so I thought maybe the LR dealer may have access to other settings, but perhaps not, in that case? |

It may not have applied or been reset - if you set your CCF to not fitted it wont work regardless (just like timed climate or the trailer sockets ) Mike

Thanks mate, this sounds worth investigating further. (Just to show my ignorance, what is CCF?) |

CCF = Car Configuration File, essentially defines what the car is configured with/without. Technically, changing the CCF can enable or disable features that were not part of the car's original specification. "Roads ? Where we're going there are no roads." Back to the future. |

Just when I thought I was close to cracking the TPMS problem with help from this forum, the following is the reply from the local LR dealer, when I asked if they could update the CCF as suggested:

First - i couldnt have told you that land rover would have said that...to be honest if you push them (by pointing out other cars dont have it) they may relent - but i doubt it due to the potential exposure as they see it as a safety system. Also letting them know you have 22" wouldnt be something (if i had them) i would do as that again A) removed any warranty and b) would be a departure from spec and thus they wouldnt recommend or comment other than to declare the car unsafe. Anyway - the point is it can be done - im not sure where you are and it might help finding someone to have a go - if your up Warwickshire way, i could possibly recommend someone. Thanks Mike - I guess I was expecting too much of a main dealer?
