A throttle sensor error will trigger limp home mode (virtually no power whatever throttle you select)

No limp home mode, I used to get that in my last one, "safe mode".

it also causes limp home.. if ECU thinks engine is overheating, it will cut the power to protect it from damage.. I experienced first hand several times going up hill.. turned out a lead to the fan was not connected, meaning the fan wasn't working

Strange thing about this problem, is there is no fault showing on the dash, it only shows up when the technician plugs his laptop in. Then it shows the car traveling along, and then the engine goes to idle. Long suffering Land Rover owner |

Ive also see mud and similar clogging airflow over radiators triggering overheating and limp home mode - not on a sport though, but its possible. Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

You are correct, although I cant fully remember what the issue was as i dont think it was clear cut eg: this MY + Clog = Fault

Land Rover eventually found the fault. It was "the car getting stuck in 3rd gear, and occasionally 6 or 7.
