Suspension failure ?!

Was wondering if someone on here could shed some light on a recent problem
I've had with the range rover ! .. The car drives and handles fine in every way but after a few minutes of driving a message will appear on the dash saying ' suspension system error , and it will then come
Up with a warning light which is of a car with an arrow either side pointing to the floor ? . If you turn the ignition off and back on this all goes and is fine again but re-appears after another few minutes of driving .. Any help would be great ! ..bulletooth.

I am afraid there will be not much help here. The only thing which will help will be to take the car to a dealer or an independent shop to read the faults from EAS ECM...could be anything from faulty brake light switch, height sensor, wiring etc,etc... Neutral

Well I was just wondering if someone on here had a similar problem in the past and how they had gone about fixing it

When I had "suspension fault" message. Here's what I did without diagnostic equipment... not foolproof.

If you lower car to access level and then select max. height and message "suspension raising slowly" appears its a good indication of a lazy compressor and/or relay.

If it takes a while to reach max height and/or the "raising slowly" message does not go off its probably sensors.

If it rises smoothly your probably looking at a duff height sensor - you'll need some one with diagnostic kit to isolate which one.

If the rise occurs at rear first and then jerkily at front it could be relay can also be compressor leaking off or a front sensor.

Hope that helps.

check your power steering fluid mate, the ARB is hydraulic and if its running dry will bring on the light.

Had this issue myself in the past showing the same symptoms as yourself.

Thats a great help actually because what I forgot to add was that when raising the suspension up , the rear rises first then the front rises jerkily ..

Picture of a car with side arrows is dynamic ride as far as I know. Mine comes on if I travel at 90 plus for long periods. Abroad obviously. Turning ignition off on restarting puts light out. Am told that at @ 90, suspension lowers to help high speed stability. I guess mine gets confused and gives up. Does come on odd time when towing caravan too. Mine goes up at rear first, then front but no jerking. The suspension works on air not hydraulic so ignore steering fluid as cause. More likely to be air leak or pump fault, both are not unusual. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!

You can check if the height sensors are faulty by switching to the offroad screen - the page that shows the wheel articulation/ diff locks on/off etc - there is a small bar shown above each wheel on the screen, if any are red then that one has a fault.
Checking the power steering oil is important if your car has the Dynamic Response / ACE fitted as this electro-hydraulically adjusts the antiroll bars on cars with with DR/ACE/ auto dislocating ARB's (generally all TDv8's and all S/C's have that, some 2.7HSE's might have had it as an optional extra as some where specced with 20" wheels and DR from the factory - these cars will also have the uprated steering rack required to fit bigger than 19" wheels on pre-2007MY cars) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
