After MOT one xeon brighter than other

Guys I was driving this eve after the MOT this morning and cars are flashing their lights at me as one main xeon is brighter than other! This has heppened before and revere corrected it as I have the Revere sidelights fitted.

Is this a common issue? Can I just adjust myself?

@ajp166

Hello,

Probably itīs Your shutter in the main light that is stuck in the "hi-beam"position.

It is not an uncommon fault.

The light has a shutter like an eyelid inside to, when You select "hi-beam", open up and
let all light out, and when You select "lo-beam", close again.

Easy check: Give the offending headlight a tap, see if it dims.

There is a fix, Iīve read about it on the D3-forum.

If You are a bit technically inclined, You can do it Youself.

You have to take out the headlight, turn it upside down, remove the motor for the adaptive
lights, under there is the solenoid that close/opens the shutter.
Its the rod that is connected to the shutter that has to be gently cleaned with a very fine
sandingpaper.

Hope that this helps you..

Best regards
