United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Nara Bronze
Number plate size

Hello everybody

I just bought a RR sport and I need to change the number plates. Can I assume the front number plate is standard ? Secondly, I just measured the back number plate (yes, I'm a girl so please bear with me Laughing ) and it measures 22 x 7 inches. The nearest I can find on the internet were 22 and 1/4 x 7 1/4 ?? Are they the correct ones to get ?

I've seen some shaped back plates too, but mine is just rectangular.

It's 2010 RRS TDV8 HSE.

Please help me.

Many thanks in advance, Emma Smile

Hi Emma, i got mine from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-SPOR...5198947f6d if this helps, but i went for the shaped number plate. Thumbs Up Failing that, talk nicely to your L/R dealer and ask if they will make you a rectangular plate up for you. Wink

Yes, standard plate for the front. Thumbs Up

According to James at Lookers Park Royal, the rear number plate should be the larger rectangular version (the exact dimensions I'm not sure of). Hopefully he'll pop in this thread and let you know, else, I'll try and measure the one on my RRS if I remember Smile

Personally, I'd keep away from the 'shaped' ones, they look a little Rover 75 to me Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Hi Emma

I've just changed my plates, the new ones are a standard front and the rear is 21" x 6" euro plates. From my local LR dealer that way I knew they would be the right ones. also thought it would look better with a dealer logo on the plate instead of some naff logo. If you go that way don't forget to take your V5 and driving licence with you else they wont make them for you. Martyn

Hi Emma

I've had to do the same with my RRS just recently too. I purchased from an AutoFactor (Car parts place, guess you could use Halfords even) 2x Standard Plates with the Euro Logo, to comply with DVLA REGULATIONS. Cost £18 with sticky pads

The front one fitted into the space provided on the bumper no problem and I stuck the rear on as per the picture below.

The one that "fills" the space is still legal but you said you don't want that. The pain is that you have to take along your Driving Licence and the V5 (or the V5C which is the part you get to keep before the V5 comes back from DVLA) otherwise they won't make the plates up for you.
