2012 RRS 3.0 HSE SDV6

Despite my other postings at the moment I decided to take a break from whinging and share my experience of the current loan car which is after all why we are all here Embarassed

Its only been 24 hours but already I have noticed a few differences between my 10 model and starting to remember why I wanted a RRS so much Cool

The electric tailgate is a big hit with me despite thinking I would miss the top opening window I use all the time because - I now realise the boot is so heavy Laughing

The steering feels way better geared/balanced - I have always found mine too light/sensitive/twitchy Thumbs Up

I love the rotary gear shift and the paddle shift Bow down

The seats look and feel superior to my alcantara/leather Very Happy

It has all weather tyres Shocked

If only it was mine and turns out to be reliable Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

When i drove foxy's then new 11 plate with only 95 miles on the clock i had to have the new model, but i waited for the newer 8 speed box and boy am i glad i did, after driving foxy's mine felt so dated i just had to replace it and i am so pleased i did even though i couldn't fault my 2006 tdv6 hse, it was 100% realiable with no faults, but i do prefere java black to santorini black, my new motor never seems to shine as well as my old java black motor Crying or Very sad so far my new 12 plate has been very good apart from my rear tailgate wouldn't shut properly everytime so dealer replaced the gas struts and its been right ever since. Thumbs Up

For me, the SDV6 was my first venture into RR ownership and more by luck than judgement I seem to have have hit upom a great model.
I love the 8 speed box and the twin turbo engine mated to it offers plenty of pull all through the range - and I'll be honest I didn't expect a 2.5 tonne car to be so nimble on the twisties in dynamic mode, that really is a box of tricks to control the body roll Bow down
A friend of mine had a pre MY10 model a few years back and couldnlt believe the difference when I took him out for a spin when I got mine.
It seems a common phrase that the MY12 revision is the car the RRS should have always been
I just hope the reliability doenst let me down, only time will tell as apart from a wheel alignment issue, mines been spot on Bow down ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I think the 11MY was a drastic improvement over the 10 despite on paper it not seeming like it.

Anyway its great to hear the 12 is good as my 13MY sport is only 4 days away! Boot and Gearstick were the two things i expect to miss...we will see Mike

2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

my experience:

pre-new-interior TDV8 = jolly good fun

new interior TDV8 with flappy paddles and adaptive dynamics = pant-wettingly good fun

Thumbs Up ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable
============
2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

I agree Smile
I know the D4 and RRS are similar under the skin (and interior wise too), but I just couldn't justify to myself spending over £50 on a Discovery. Had two friends now that have done the same, bought D4's, then within 3 months gone and got an RRS as its the car they should have got first time around Laughing ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I am considering D4 - possibly an xs Thumbs Up

I wanted one in the first place but swmbo wanted the wag rover sport Whistle

From what I have read the disco has better ride, more rugged and about £12k cheaper than what I have so could probably keep the mini Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
