England

Sounds like you need a cable to fit the iphone and ipod wired into the rear aux socket. This will then give you music through the speakers, charging facility and volume control via the steering wheel but no other functions.

I have used a bluetooth receiver in the rear aux which works perfectly with the phone music but no good for the ipod if it doesn't have bluetooth Big Cry MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

The very best way as far as I know is the official LR kit for doing this, it's a lead that plugs into the back of your radio and runs to the upper glovebox and provides some level of control over the iPod via steering wheel as far as I know.

It's called the Audio Connectivity Module (ACM), part number VPLFE0002, approx £300. Seems this is a freelander part, but from what I've seen here, it works with the RRS too.

On the cheaper end of the scale, one of these will give you "proper" line level output (rather than headphone) and also has a USB plug so you can charge the iPod from a 12V cig lighter socket:

Check it's compatible with the touch, I know it works with an iPhone but not sure about touch.

If you have the phono sockets behind the front armrest it will be simple plug and play, if like me you only have a jack for aux input rather than phono, you'll need one of these too:

or this which I would prefer

Now, you won't get any remote control for the iPod from these, only reasonable quality sound, better than you get from the headphone socket which something like this would provide with a little remote

http://www.buyijet.com/ (note: I've never tried this, so can't guarantee it's any good, just one I found by googling ipod remotes)

Don't know, but when I asked my local dealer about iPod connectivity for my MY2005 RRS, they drew a blank, nothing in microcat, nobody knew how this could be done !
