Surely you must have a friend who knows what he is doing can give you a hand changing the brakes for a few beer tokens |

The sceptic in me says this is why they were £420. Have you verified the work does indeed need doing? ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Bc, when you have wiped the sleep out of your eyes, read it again The service was £420 and the price they quoted for fitting the brakes only (labour) is £180 |

At LR main dealer rates I reckon that's about 2 hours labour.

if they are the ones im thinking of,on your door step, I would double check the work needed doing, as my brakes wore down very quickly on my old car according to them and i just got them to do it. But then heard of others falling for the trap of over zealous measurements on there brakes and later seeing the parts and there been loads of life left in them |

NPinks, not the dealer you are thinking of, i would not send my daughters bike there. The disks are due change after 60K and it had a second pair of Brembo pads at 30K so all is about right and i should change the pads at the same time as new disks, the issue on the back is i believe a seized caliper as drivers side rear pad is at 5mm and N/S is at 2mm so excessive wear on this one alone. |

Shepp, many thanks for the info, hopefully when the dealer puts the new pads in he will give it a clean. |
