Both methods deliver the same results.

Thanks for that, budgets a bit tight after forking out for a new park brake mechanism so I'll fit the blanking plates myself. I've read that I don't need gasket sealer, would you agree?? |

When I was going to do mine (on my old D3) The kit just had 2 oval stainless steel tabs that block the EGR pipes... that was it, no aditional gaskets. |

Hmm does not look like it... the instructions show this kit removes the pipework but not the actual EGRs. RRS gone

Had the car faults read today, and one of the egr valves was on the fault list, so thought it may be best to blank them off (2006 2.7).

The "suicide pause" is usually caused by the gearbox defaulting to second gear to pull away. Put it in CS 1st as you pull up and you'll find it pulls away much more sharply. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Blank and leave the pipe work in place, then at MOT time everything will look normal.

Remapping does not fix the pause - it is a gearbox programming issue. 07MY RRS TDV6

The remap has helped, and the Pause is a lot less noticeable. My drive to work this morning was quite pleasurable as she skipped through the gears!

I've used one of the cheap sets, simply two blanking plates, worked a treat. Fitted myself following the instructions with the kit, the only problem I had was the rounding off of two of the bolts, very soft metal, used an irwin socket to remove successfully. No need to remove anything and under the hood looks untouched. I believe the more expensive kits allow you to remove pipework etc, but I didn't feel the need to do that, as I believe it in no way improves performance. Personal choice? |
