Do these by any change screw into the existing screw holes in the lights, ie, if you take them off, can you just stick in the original screws which may be a shorter length Obviously I appreciate you may not have these ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I haven't removed the headlight to check properly but it appears the guard screws into the face of the grille surround. From looking at the installation instructions it would seem holes are required to be drilled before fitting the guards |

Isn't the grille surround plastic? |

So to answer my own question, yes the grille is plastic. So I've removed the lamp guards and you need to drill the bodywork in some places (rear lights) which is unseen after removal. When removing the front guards there are holes left in the grill (approx 5mm each). One word of caution to any of you thinking of fitting the guards. Where one of the front brackets (nearside) had been fitted it has rubbed against the paintwork over the years to the point there is now two small patches (10mm x 2mm) of corrosion I'm assuming that as the guards were fitted after the factory build the corrosion guarantee is of no use? |

If its fitted by the factory or the dealer within a certain period after purchase, it carries the full warranty
