The discussion I dread is the one which explains that (in general) the better watches have automatic movements which are expensive and the more accurate the movement (in general) the more expensive the watch and (in general) you never see the movement and none of them are as accurate as a quartz watch, all stop if you don't wear them for a few days and that after a month or so of being stopped the incredibly expensive ones need to be sent back to the manufacturer to get them going again ...... (usually she zones out by the second "in general" probably like anyone reading this reply). Graham 09 TDV8 Zermat Silver |

Had similar discussions with Mrs Bean, something along the lines of "so, you spend all that money on a nice watch and it stops working if you don't wear it or put it in a watch winder, and its not actually that accurate" - "Yes"

My missus has no room for argument - her Cartier Tank has been in the safe since I bought her a Chanel J12. She has nicer watches than me! Thankfully, the Cartier is quartz...... |

After losing about 3 cheap watches when we were courting 20 odd years ago, i bought my missus a Tag Heuer (before they went all cheap!) thinking it might stay on her wrist a bit longer - it did and has been her daily wear ever since.

@ Phil, I opted for the quartz Tank Solo too, as I knew she'd complain that it was always telling the wrong time I went down the automatic route
