On the look out for a RRS
Will be my first off roader but not my
First 4x4 I have had a number of high powerd scoobys
And evos up to 420bhp/440lb/ft
So it time for a change as going off the main road is a pain
In a car 3" off the floor
And a big no way pigeon shooting in the winter

What do I need to look for On the 2.7 diesel when shopping for one spending around 15/18K

I've just made the jump from a scooby (WRX) to the RRS - got myself a 2.7 diesel HSE, feels completely different to the scooby - no more beating people off the line at the traffic lights, but a much more luxurious ride & drive with loads more toys.

It's worth having a read of the stickies in the technical & general forums, but problems that seem to crop up frequently with the RRS are...

a) Electrical gremlins, particularly if the battery runs flat and is recharged. Seems to give a wide variety of error messages on the dash eg. engine management, suspension, etc. These don't seem to actually relate to real faults, just seems to need the electrics resetting somehow...

b) Knocking from the front suspension

c) Dodgy alternators

d) Dodgy door locks (don't lock / unlock with the key fob or the buttons on the dash, cost ~£130 to sort out (or free under warranty))

e) Problems with the air suspension - having corners of the car at different heights whilst driving / parked.

I'm sure someone who knows what they're talking about can give you more of an idea of the problems, but this is just what I've picked up in the last month or so from reading stuff on here. Good luck!

Hi all ive just bought my 3rd rrs 2011 fugi white with autobiography factory fitted kit.

but with all the excitement picking the motor up never done any spec cheaking! yes i know im a fool

2 previous rrs have been 2.7 hse

but this one my god is an se? look great BUT NO REVERSE CAMERA NO COOLBOX AND NO MEMORY SEATS REALLY GUTTED

can anyone tell me if the wiring is there for the camera and can i just buy one from the dealer or ebay and just plug it in and it will work??

Also it has karn rs 22" satin black alloys on what look amazing in my opion but as with my previous rrs after driving approx 1000 miles i dont like the ride so there up for sale or possible swap for some genuine autobiography alloys with new or as new tyres and £400 or i would do a part ex
karn rs alloys are genuine karn alloys not cheap copies and the wheels and tyres are as new £1900
