Picking up my RRS on Saturday TDV6 HSE so must say excited about it.

Bit of a Land Rover Lover currently have Range Rover P38 and Discovery, company car not a Land Rover unfortunately!! although the RR and Discovery will have to be sold eventually as 4 cars is getting a bit much now!! lol

Wondering if anyone could please give advice

I own a RRS hse 2.7 2007 a few days ago driving through spain i heard a rattling noise underneath car, stopped and noticed the underneath of the car soaked in oil

immediatley took it to the nearest garage and they informed me the oil was transmission fluid ,had completley run dry and looks like about a £3 to 4 K repair

My question is should the car warning system given an indication that there was a fault with the level of transmission fluid or indeed the complete lack of it, and if so is there an explanation as to why this did not happen.

Would it be covered under warranty or is it a fault known to other members who may have experienced the same

Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated

And other than this have not had any problem with the car since buying it new in 2007 and been pleasure to own

i'm known to quite a few people on here it appears from frequenting another car site, so already feel at home

Was meant to pick up my 07/56 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE this afternoon but wasn't going to be ready, so hopefully coming Monday - can't wait! Decided last Tuesday to get one, found & arranged to buy in 3 days! Off to Ireland on Thursday, so looking forward to the long drive & the chance to finally conquer the notoriously bad, bumpy & potholes Irish roads! Might get the chance to test its towing capabilities as have arranged for a 3 ton mini-digger & definitely the off-road ones

Just bought an 2008 4.2 S/C HST love the website have learned a lot already, am interested in upgrades to LED rearlights and 2010 led frontlights also want a set of 22" alloys not sure which make/model to go for

I haven't even collected the car yet can't wait until next week

I have been a member of the site for a while, lurking in the back ground

I picked up a 05 4.2SC sport on Thursday for myself. A beautiful 47k full history stunner. To say im impressed is an understatement

I own a bodyshop in Kent, we specialise in modified and show car standard work. We also do full vinyl wraps etc.
So she may become a fun show piece at some point.

I will post some decent pics tomorrow, but she is black, sits on 22" wheels. Harmon Kardon, Sat nav etc. I absolutely love it. We had a TD4 HSE Freelander before. But this is another level!!

Anyway, this is a pic from the day I picked her up. I will post some more later.

Hi all, thought it about time I said hello, been registered 7or 8 months having been over on the D3 side since 2005/6 if i remember right, and been a kind of silent lurker in the shadows .

Well sold the 05 D3 tdv6 se in 2010 having owned it from new and traded it in for a 06 tdv6 hse range rover sport in rimni red, that was traded in last year for a 08 tdv8 sport 25k on the clock in storoway grey+apaca+zebrano and loving it.

Have done a few mods so far, changed the tyres to 275 45 20 general grabber uhp's....much nicer ride (roads by me are a bit rough) now more like the 19's I had on the tdv6, black badges, smoked repeaters, hst grill, K&N filter and a blue fin, and many more to come.

Looking forward to reading/posting more on these great forums, and may they continue and prosper.  08 RRS TDV8 stornoway grey.
