If it does turn out to be EGR(s) then as a pre 2007 car, you can fit an EGR blank off kit (£12 off ebay for the kit) and 3 hours of a mechanic's time.

In that case, I hope it turns out to be an EGR issue as they seem like relatively quick and low cost fixes. Is there any way of checking this is the issue before it goes on or is loss of power the only symptom? LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch. |

I had the same issues as you on my 2006 tdv6 last year, and blocking the EGR valves remedied it - in fact the car drove brilliantly after it. I bought the kit from Bells for about £48 and it took me 2 hours to fit it.
