United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Lucerne Green

So - Zilch - did two new Goodyears on the front sort the wobble out for good?

My car is on 19" wheels and whilst I have been pointed to other solutions by joining the forum this morning ( eg. new steering racks, steering wheels etc) I am loathe to instruct a LR dealer to start a game of cat and mouse around the steering gear of my car.

It is also just out of the LR Manufacturer's warranty - so is now on a 2 year extended LR Approved Warranty (which I am glad I insisted on - but despite its title - it is still an insurance type backed warranty through CareCare Plan in Bradford) and LR in Leeds did not hesitate to say the warranty provider will not pay for diagnostics or be prepared to just keep replacing things which "may not" be defective...

Hence I am (sort of) minded to keep running the car - tolerating the bloomin wobble and seeing how it fares when I change the tyres in c. 5 - 10,000 miles.

I find it hard to beleive that a 2.7 tonne car can have such sensitive steering - you'd think it would be solid as a rock!!

The dealer also said the steering is a fairly intricate bit of kit...? JeffP

on my MY06 yes, but after many part changes as i mentioned (diff, lower control arm bushes, etc). However that said it was a problem pertinent to mine, interesting that the dealers missed the differing treads.

On my MY10.5 it required a new steering rack, Steering wheel (yes a new wheel Shocked ) and some hydra bushes, all within the first 6 months

They are pretty complex due to the independence of each corner, no cross beam axle as such, so there is a lot of trickery under the arches as they say Thumbs Up Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
