been thinking of a set of Peltor Sportac Tactical II but heard some say they get in the way a bit with them been over head style

I don't use the Peltor ones but have been using these (although branded as William Powell in my case)

I find they only get in the way if I miss-mount the gun. Usually they're fine. A friend has Peltor cans but not sure if they're the ones you're looking at. He did say it took him a few goes to get used to them having used foam buds before. Now he's very happy with the Peltors though. Thumbs Up

The best thing is being able to hear what's going on whilst keeping your ears warm on cold days Thumbs Up . Ear defenders can be a bit sweaty on hot summer days though. But that's not too much of a price to pay for warm ears on the other 360 days! Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'm going to Worsley on Saturday and joining up......speaking to the Cheshire Gun Rooms guy today though.....

I just join and can turn up as a member with up to 2 additional people (whether they have licences or not) and they sign in as my responsibility and we just shoot as much as we like which goes on to my account @ 25p a clay Thumbs Up

Shooting really is much cheaper when you have your own kit.

Once I've been this Saturday and sussed if the above is correct come down and we'll have a shoot off ( Embarassed or whatever they call it)

n pinks the peltors are great and last for ages ive had mine over 6 years used them all over and only thing ive had to replace are the battries an a set of windsocks for the mics (due to me knocking them off some were)
with ref to seating the gun ive used them with shotguns and assault rifles and never had a problem onl thing i did have was when wereing them over baseball cap if the cap has a metal stud on the top like quite a few do it can put pressure on that and get painful after a bit , noise reduction on them is spot on and with the mics you can chat away witout shouting only the dead truely know peace,

thanks Chilly

I have found out a friend has a set, so im going to get him to loan me his, and see how they go, he said he didn't like them, so if i get on with them a deal might be done Thumbs Up

I have heard Howard Leights are supposed to be quite good too for about £60, but i keep thinking about the custom moulded in-ear electronic ones too, but need to save up some pennies for them Laughing

like anything suppose it depends on yourself aswell head shape ect, i looking at some custom ones but will be going for electronic rather than passive ones as they make life so much easier just been able to chat away and not get caught out by someone else shooting near you only the dead truely know peace,

i borrowed the Peltor Sporttac electric headset from my mate

Different, but quite good, i noticed my mount occasionally hit the headset, but nothing too drastic.

Going to use them a few times and see what i think, it was a hot day, and when i took them off my ears were a little sweaty

I might buy them and then i have a set for when my son comes along to a clay ground when his a little older, and i can communicate with him instead of having to shout above standard non electric ones

Anyway, how did you get on Shooting at the weekend JF Question

sorry just realsied i have the tactical 6's not the sport tac not a massive diff but just slightly slimmer profile , but could be the reason i dont have probs with seating gun or getting the right cheek weld
either way think for first few times you will catch them till you get used to them and get the muscle memory on the go with them, think you can get covers for them so its material touching your head rather than the pvc to only the dead truely know peace,
