Fluctuating Revs at constant speed

I've had this annoying 100rpm fluctuation when driving at constant speed (noticeable in the 40-50mph zone)

Anyway... the dealer said it might be my map causing confusion in the autobox (not expecting so much torque with the applied throttle position) but I wasn't sold on that diagnostic

so I've been on the Jag forum and they are experiencing the same on some of their 6 speed ZF autoboxes (recognised fault)

To solve it requires a cold re-flash of the box? (a warm one does not work)

Anyone know what a re-flash involves?

I think my BAS interface resets the adaptive gearbox when uploading the map... but this does not seam to solve my prob.

Any comments from the techies before I go back to my dealer? RRS gone

Sounds like you need to find someone with a Faultmate to reflashed the software. Not unheard of issue for D3s.

Have a mooch D3side, quite a few peeps over there with the kit to do that, along with a few other mods that LR brought in on newer models but don't deem us worthy of having. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Java Black

Hi awd man, i've just seen your post, I was going to post the same question myself, my 06 2.7 tdvs fluctuating revs at low speed on light throttle, also a bit lumpy on downshifts at low speed, I done a bit of digging around on this forum and jag and d3 forums and I sort of narrowed it down to possible gearbox related issues, I am fairly sure the auto box fluid had not been changed from new, having now done a double fluid flush (genuine fluid only) and a new filter pan (nightmare to fit) it seems to have fixed it, box is now very smooth and more positive to throttle etc. only done a couple of days ago so fingers crossed, not sure about looking at inj. trims etc as suggested on the d3 forum link, I scanned mine and it had no.2 on low limit but fairly sure there not connected to the surgeing, one way of testing it is I think the torque converter locks out in command shift so the problem seems to go.
