Got rear-ended last year by a too close Ford Galaxy when I had to brake sharply for a van that pulled out in front of me, result: one tow hook shaped hole in his plastic bumper

I thought that the title suggested a different type of magnet that cars are quite often referred to as!

Tailgating and blind overtaking is the norm over here.....People genuinely travel 6-8ft behind you at 70mph

No Jim, you are not being over sensitive, It happened to me when my RRS was brand new and I mentioned it in one of my first posts on the forum I don't notice it so much now, either I am used to it or more likely a dirty RRS does not stand out quite so much. Just forget about the a s and enjoy your new car. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

It is also worth remembering that because of the high position of the rear view mirror in a Range Rover relative to a normal car, combined with the length of the car and the high rear window that it does have the effect of making following cars seem closer than they actually are. That said, even with taking this into consideration, there are still plenty of Pillocks out there that do tailgate! I have actually also noticed that I get "brake tested" far more often when I am following another car than I ever did when I was driving a normal height car. Especially if my headlights are on. Clearly the size of the RRS in their mirrors makes it appear closer than it really is as well! Ah well, C'est la vie 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

If someone is tailgating you then the 'safe' thing to do (plus it p155es them off) is to drive slower.
