It won't harm the air suspension, but make sure the lifting equipment locates under the chassis, preferrably at the holes specifically for jacking at......... the body does not have any jacking points and will be damaged if he tried to lift it on that, also, do not let him lift it under the suspension compressor. RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i |

I'd heard you must leave the tailgate open when jacking to stop the car from trying to auto-level RRS gone

That doesn't work awd, you need to leave a door open really when using a jack, but having said that its different again when you are lifting the whole vehicle, when my car was in at the dealers using the ramp described above i think they put the suspension in extended height then lifted the car on the ramp, because its being lifted square the suspension doesn't try to level itself. Thats my understanding anyway. Last edited by Ady 555 on Wed Feb 22 2012 11:30am. Edited 2 times in total |

The handbook says the vehicle must be in extended height when jacking so that would make sense Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

My garage usaly leave the tailgate open and puts the hazards on then once back on the ground you just need to reset the suspension. |
