HSE or HSE Luxury - 2nd hand values will they be higher?

Hi,

I have ordered a RRS HSE and it's due to be built mid March but I have been thinking of changing it to a HSE luxury.

I have ordered the following
HSE with Black Lacquer, Privacy glass, contrast stiching & heated steering wheel in orkney grey with Ivory/ebony

The luxury pack consists of the contrast stiching & heated steering wheel and I would like the leather topper and the different style alloys. The cruise control & enhanced ICE doesn't interest me really and that appears to make up the bulk of the Luxury cost.

Because I purchase via the employee scheme the Luxury pack will cost approx £2400 extra and with the options I have already ordered (included in the luxury pack) it will make it approx £2150 extra.

I only intend to keep the car 12 to 18 months before upgrading again and I was wondering if I would see any of that additional money back via a part exchange.

Will the HSE Luxury been seen as a different model and be priced higher than a HSE or will be been seen as a HSE with options meaning I will see very little return from the additional £2150 for the luxury pack.

I have tried to gauge via the current model available on the 2nd hand market but it seems too early to tell.

If anyone works in the trade or can assist with this kind of information I would be grateful.

Regards
Paul.

its really a lottery mate as the lux doesn't have a history in the guide, id expect that the Lux will fetch a premium in the retail market whilst they are still in production , considering the % depreciation id expect you would get your 2k back on it

i would suggest it will always be relative - i cant see people specifically going for a luxury like they might an a/b...so you might get the % relative premium back.

any on the employee scheme it doesnt really matter Mike

I don't work in the trade but I will say, cars aren't investments so just don't worry too much and enjoy it instead. The difference you are worrying about, in a normally operating 2nd hand market, will be in the region of a grand maximum, probably a lot less.

By comparison, if the euro crisis deepens then in 12-18 months the car will be worth LESS than 50% of what you have paid for it. This is what happened in late 2008/early 2009 when I picked up a TWO year old 57 plate RRS TDV8 for less than £30k...

So don't worry, be happy, enjoy the motor! Thumbs Up ============

2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable

2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

in fact thinking about the dates I picked up the 57 plate TDV8 HSE (black with black with 20's) for less than £30k and it wasn't even 15 months old...... truly luck, not judgement. It won't happen to me again Big Cry

So don't worry. Unless money is tight. In which case, don't buy one in the first place! Mr. Green ============

In my experience these extras don't count if you're selling, but add a premium if you're buying.

The 1st owner always takes the biggest hit on a new motor no matter what the spec, it will just make your motor a bit more desireable maybe when you come to sell if your selling private, if you are trading it in to a dealer then it really doesn't make much difference to the trade in value to them so i wouldn't expect a good return on all your extras off a dealer.

Hi,

20% discount plus the vat saving. 10% comes from JLR and the other 10% comes from the dealer.

Paul.
