The two main alternatives I think are Warranty Wise and Warranty Direct. I have the latter cover - no check as long as the car has a full LR history.

Get an online quote, leave them a contact tel no. but dont take out the policy. They will ring you in a couple of days and give you the same policy, way cheaper!

Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Make sure you understand what any warranty covers.....

...it turned out that mine was "breakdown" only. i.e the part had to fail and leave you stranded.

If you turn up at a Dealers, still driving, then thats not a breakdown and your not covered.

So despite a very loud squealing from the front of the car and an occasional Charging Light flashing, my Alternator had not failed leaving me stranded, I could not claim. And as the Insurance company now knew of the problem I could not drive back down the road and "Breakdown". 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Save your money buying a pointless warranty, do you really want to spend hours on the phone arguing the toss every time? Put the money in the bank each month. This is from experience.

although from my experience, a £700 warranty ended up paying out more than £2000 in claims. Search my posts for more details, it was the official LR warranty although a younger car (57 plate) - each claim was painless although this might be because LPR (James and Wayne) are so good at what they do Thumbs Up ============

Had a few claims on my LR warranty and never had any problems, all work done with no questions asked Mr. Green
Used LR assist once which is included in the warranty and while mine was off the road I had a brand new sport on loan Thumbs Up

I'd get extended warranty again every time. No problems with claims , replacement car provided, used it 3 times. Jaguar XKR Convertible

The thing with Warranties are that they are insurance.

Insurance companies work on the principle that they take in more money than they pay out. They have highly paid experts who calculate that in the balance of things, they will make a profit and the punters will make a loss. Who are we to argue with the experts. As has been said, put the money in your savings for the day something happens. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Disagree from my experience so far. I've owned too many cars to mention and generally anything outside of warranty i haven't bothered extending the warranty but a Landrover is a different kettle of fish.
In all the cars i've owned the LR is the first i've needed to use the warranty on, three times to date.
I'm pretty sure that my three visits to the dealer, plus assisatance, plus loan car, would equal if not exceed the cost of the warranty, so in my case its money well spent.
What do you suggest putting aside, £100 a month?
Nik.

Also on the + side of having a warranty is resale value, if two cars were for sale of similar spec mileage and price and one had a 12 month warranty and the other one didn't have one at all Shocked i know which one i'd buy Wink

most of my money has been made proving the experts wrong! one of the best sources of profit for all companies, including warranty companies, is most people just bend over and take it when they (the company) play tough. If you have some fight in you, you can win pretty much anything these days - I had a sofa suite replaced after 4 years use after proving a design fault, a 3 year old plasma replaced after proving a design fault, a multi-thousand pound council tax overpayment refunded after several years (despite council policy of '6 months only') after taking said council to court, service charges refunded, phone bills, insurance costs etc etc etc. Stand your ground when you know you are right, use the right of law that we are all entitled to do and you can achieve remarkable things. I am not a clever person I just don't like the Censored being taken by big biz.

I would HIGHLY recommend an extended warranty as a very good, very positive bet to make on a complicated piece of kit like the RRS i.e. the chance of something, big or small, going wrong is fairly high. The profit margin for the warranty company lies less in the statistical chance of a claim but more in the chance that a refused claim won't be disputed by the warranty holder (us), which is exactly how most insurance companies make their money.

And then read Lets The Experts Speak, for good measure Thumbs Up ============
