Low gear due to low temp?

Noticed in last few days that during the first few miles, the car stays longer in a lower gear setting than normal.
After a few miles the car shifts again as normal. Rolling Eyes

Has anybody else encountered the same?
Is this because of the cold temperatures (6 degrees celcius), or is something wrong with the gearbox?

thanks SW
