2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Stornoway Grey

warning light on dash

Hi all,
A light has appeared onj the dash showing an engine or similiar, this should go out when engine starts but doesnt- hand book says emission performance impaired!!

Sorry- this is on a 2008 TDV6 rangey sport

Any suggestions please (nice ones)

Probably an egr valve. Trip to dealer 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Thanks for quick repsonse- is it still okay to drive within reason? Is it a relatively simple fix?

I had same prob on my 08. Bought 2 egr valves off eBay new for £100 and had fitted private and also had them blanked (look at my other posts) not had a problem since and cost £200 all in all. People say they can't be blanked on 08 cars but they can. Change both valves not just one side

Thanks Mike that info is really appreciated, my mate has just had his proper approved pluggy in tester on the RR and it has confirmed the valves although he has now cleared the listed fault and no light shows- do you know whether there is an easy way to access them as there doesnt look to be a great deal of room?

The light will come back on in a few days..... Took my buddy a few hours to do them and was a bit of a pain, looked on eBay and not seeing any anywhere near as cheap as I paid for them so good luck!! Defo do both not just the one, they usually go within a few hundred miles of each other
