RRS in snow

I just took my RRS out in the snow for the first time and although only 3 inches on the ground I tried the snow setting. I noticed that the 4 wheel system didnt change from standard setting, or at least that what I think the 4x4 display was telling me, but the engine map did change significantly.

It killed the throttle map and it went into a near crawl mode. Very impressed. TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

Andorra 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

Same here..... 1st time in snow 4 days ago..... about 12 inches, bit of a blizzard blowing... and on mountain roads..
with conti winter contact for rubber... was impressed with the car and tyres... as you said the snow setting works reassuringly and ever so smoothly...

doesn't like hairpins on the way down and fully expected that Whistle 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Snow setting is useful when you get stuck Rolling with laughter Cheers Laurence.

make sure you disable DSC if you are in conditions where you could get stuck, or if you do get stuck, as DSC active will ensure you get/stay stuck Thumbs Up ============

Andorra 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

yes... quite a bit.... had snow mode on... and powered through it... which seemed to correct the front while the snow mode gave gentle power without the turbos kicking in too much.... without which which I dare say it would have over steered even more... even with conti winters on....

On a decline..... simply put .... its got to be at a crawl anyway 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Never had a 4x4 before and to be quite honest not really impressed Surprised Put toe down a bit spins brake slides turn slightly to quick and understeer. My 535d was better Laughing

Just tried to reverse in snow mode up my inclined drive and the car slid to the right as the front wheels began to spin. Not too concerned as I have standard road tyres on and didn't have DSC disabled RRSboy although I would have thought snow mode would be the optimum setting and managed the DSC issue itself?? TDV8 HSE, Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm), Taylored sport exhaust system by Pipe Werx

Netherlands 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

3-day ski trip with friends to Baqueira Beret Spain.

My RRS on summer Conti`s took me right up to 2000 meter above sea level with 4 occupants and full luggage.

The only thing i did was selecting the` Ěce and Snow `setting.

Any unintended deviation of track was only when swirling around the stranded X5 and Cayenes... Rolling with laughter

To all those that are trying their RRS in the snow. Remember the standard low profile tyres have a very limited ability in these conditions, whether the car is 4 wheel drive or not. When nearly 3 tonnes of RRS loses traction you are not going to stop easily! Now, put decent winter tyres on the car and you wil be amazed at the difference. Thumbs Up
P.S. We've got NO snow here in Aberdeenshire!! Confused It's a topsy turvy old world! Laughing Laughing 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
