Scotland 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey

When I bought my first RRS (MY07) brand new from an LR dealer they proudly informed me that they had chipped it for me! I had not asked for it but was glad to accept it on the old 2.7 litre engine. It would have been an interesting debate with LR if they had ever tried to deny warranty on the car based on it being chipped.
That said, I really don't see the point of chipping the 3 litre engine as it has loads more poke than the earlier models anyway.

A local dealer, well not that local and not T&C used to chip their demonstrators and didnt tell the punters!!

Im sure as said earlier LR would have trouble standing up to a good QC but is all the cost/hassle etc worth it when under warranty the car runs well? - as Endjin correctly states the 3.0 is much better than the 2.7! Now - MY11 RRS Autobiography TDV6, Orkney gray, tints, steps, daylight running lamps and allllll the toys!!!

I think one of the remappers has actually confirmed in a post that the remaps DO leave a log of the updated file and therefore the history is there for anyone with the correct equipment to read.

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

This whole warranty thing is a major issue for JLR. I had 22" wheels on my car originally, needed the bushes doing and they said th 22's technically invalidated getting this done on warranty but did it anyway. I then changed wheels to 20's for all sorts if reasons bu in the back of my mind as the car got older I didn't want them to have any excuse.

Then noticed our dealer selling sports new with 22's so asked them what would happen if I bought the car off them already with 22's on it, would it invalidate th warranty? They didn't know! Jaguar XKR Convertible

Even if that's correct and I've heard that too it would take a lot of effort on the dealers part to do this. Yes if the dealer really wanted to prove if a car had been remapped they could. But why would they go to all this effort? It's not something I've ever heard a dealer routinely check and most dealers wouldn't even know how to.

If you are getting a remap you have to understand the risk and yes technically it will invalidate your warranty, particularly for any engine claims. You have to decide if its worth the risk and how likely it is they could ever know. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

When i bought a mitsubishi L200 back in 2004 mitsubishi offered a power upgrade which of course i had, it came with full mitsubishi warranty, it would be great if land rover offered a power upgrade just to satisfy the power demons amongst us Thumbs Up

There's only one scenario that would matter to me and that would be to reject a warranty claim on an engine.
