Ticking sound coming from underneath

Guys can you help please?

I have recently been hearing a loud ticking sound from underneath my TDV8 and raised it with the local Manchester dealer only to be told it was the little coolant heater engine and not to worry. To be honest though guys I'm not convinced.

It doesn't happen all the time and when it does it can last from as little as 10 seconds to a minute then stops. I was wondering if it could be an air suspension issue and whether I should go back the dealer and raise it again.

Any assistance much appreciated forum.

Probably is the fuel burning heater, they can make some funny clicks etc as they start up, after the clicks have stopped can you hear a sound like a small turbine engine? This is the noise the FBH makes.

To be sure, open your bonnet, start the car and then stand at the front passenger side, you can see the FBH on top of the wing, behind the headlight - is this making the clicking sound?

Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. Common to break down on our cars Sherlock, easily fixed tho, mine made a loud tapping noise that quitend down after a short while, got them both removed and blanked off as they're un-necessary on the earlier TDV6, therers two of these valves fitted to the rangerover sport Java black 2006

If it is the suspension is it a fault or just the regular sound?

My next door neighbour actually made a point of speaking to m the other day about the RRS. he wanted to tell me that on several occasions when he had been out in the front garden he had heard my car making noises. Not just the same one but several different ones.

The car will wake itself up periodically and go through various routines and so can be a little disconcerting if you happen to be passing at the wrong moment.
