Do all RRS 2.7 TDV6 have the FFBH?

Hi guys,

I've been reading a few posts about this and I have a 2005 '05 Reg 2.7 TDVS HSE, and I don't have this in my Sport. Should this be standard on all Sports diesels? I know there was a TSB bulletin for this, but I think my VIN number is outside this VIN Range mentioned on the TSB.

I am finding that the cabin doesn't heat up much on these cold mornings, even set to max. Could this be a Thermostat issue or do you think the FFBH would make a difference?

I am on the dual carriageway, in less than 1 minute from leaving the house and my first set of traffic lights is 14 miles away. I am then on the motorway for approximately 15 miles until I get into London where the traffic starts to build up and the speed limits change.

I only purchased the car back in March and the previous Owner lived abroad most of the time, so maybe he didn't notice this cold issue, I am experiencing.

What do you guys think?

Cheers in advance,
Shortie.

The FBH was standard on all RRS/D3's

Have you tried looking for it under the bonnet then? Is there a gap where it should be?

The V6 (and V8's) are very economic with heat and thus not much gets produced for the cabin when the outside temp drop.. thus the need for the FBH RRS gone

Hi AWD,

Yes, I saw a photo that someone posted up, of their FBH, so I went to have a look to see if I had one. It's definitely missing. Just a gap where the FBH should be.

Cheers for the reply.

How do i test to see if the diesel heater in the engine bay is actually working.

If the put the key in the ignition and then turn it to the run position (II) should the heater spark in to life if the temp is say 3 degrees ?

Does it only run when the engine is running ?

Have had a look for smoke from the engine bay exhaust, but nothing to suggest it has fired up !

I had one of these on a boat once and the heat was pretty much instant !

Should it pump hot air to the cabin ?

Not sure mine is working

A fellow Fifer, I live in Aberdour myself.

Cant't answer your question sorry.

How do i test it. Is there a way i can short out the temp sencing connections to try and fool it, and see if it comes on ?

Sweden 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HST Java Black

Hi Guys..

I bought a RRS HSE(T) -06 recently.. (a little over a week ago)

My FBH never said anything, and we are well below +4C here in Stockholm..

I did the "soft reset" yesterday, but to no avail.. Sad

I suddenly got an idea!! Exclamation

My brother has a D3 HSE -05, and has fitted Bellautoserviceīs FBH remote..
Itīs basicly one wire that you connect to the "data-socket" om the FBH..
(and power + and - and an antenna of course)

We connected the cars with jumper cables, so that we shared a "common electrical circuit".

Disconnected the "data-socket from D3, put a thin lead in the "startpinhole",
and led the other end to pin 2 in my datasocket (after removing rubberplug in #2)

Pressed "start" on "Bell-plip"
and after a few seconds, my FBH started!! Laughing
We started and stopped it a few times, and disconnected the cars from eachother
and put everything back where it belonged.

Now my FBH starts averytime I start the engine, and for each time I start it runs a little longer
(It needs about 10-15 starts to really get going properly, or so I have heard..)

So, fingers crossed, FBH sorted!! Thumbs Up As a rule, I always resist temptations,
unless they are irresistible.
