It does seem silly to get everyone working until 67. It will just increase the unemployment figures for school, college an uni leavers. We would be better off letting people retire at 65 and give them pension money rather than pay the youngsters unemployment benefits.

What the hell has that got to do with anything? I could not afford a RRS until last year. I have worked my knackers off all my life and paid my way. Never claimed for all. I have built my business from nothing and I am an employer. I pay a huge amount of Tax & VAT so in effect contribute towards the pensions of the strikers. It is up to me to provide for my future, you can bet your nuts they won't provide for my pension. A state pension Won't be worth anything when I retire. They chose the path they wanted to go down as did I. I might drive a RRS at the moment but the way this country is going I could be out of business shortly. I could be living on next to nothing in future years. But hey that's fine as long as the public sector get their guaranteed pension. 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography |

Public sector workers strike? Not all of them. We forget the services - as a veteran with £12k a year after 20 years service (boosted by a war pension for early discharge) I certainly empathise with the strikers.

I was on strike today. I drive an RRS. I pay my taxes just like those on here moaning do. I don't have any kids so get all back and am lucky enough not to have to call on the NHS. So I'm putting more in to society than I'm taking out in that regard.

My wife does! Nicest car in the school car park if I say so myself!! I have not heard so much crap on a forum for a long time!! The problems started when the government decided to take a pension holiday in the 80s when intrest rates were hitting 15% , now that for the last 10 years or so the rates are poor there are not enough funds to pay out, the other problem is that the government has tried to run the public sector like a business and now there are too many layers of management earning more than private sector, there are 12000 public sector employees in Scotland alone earning over £100k a year, these are the guys milking the big pensions, not the 90% of the rest who are earning 20/30k and will realistically only get a pension of 10k! Oh and x5pea, you usually make a lot of sense, but you are talking drivel, I would like to see you run a classroom of kids who don't want to be there! in fact that is another wasteful problem, kids in 4th year get paid to stay at school so the unemployment figures don't look as bad! We need to get apprenticeships back on track! cheers Dave MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!
