TC, I think RRUK is eager to test pilot the FILTER .

One other question...... will it have any detrimental effect to MPG? Around town Office/School/Home etc is about 2 miles ..... I dont go far on the average working day & this short run , cold starts etc means i'm only returing a massive 13.7mpg Crying or Very sad

Didnt buy the supercharged for that though.... more speed vicar Very Happy

Fitted and soon to be tested

Right,
The TC Performance air filter arrived in the post today so I fitted it at lunchtime, just a matter of loosening the 6 or so screws that hold down the air filter housing and the jubilee clip on the hose, then lift off the box, pull out the standard filter (pretty heavy actually) and slide in the very lightweight and cool looking ITG version. Re screw everything and it's done. Just finally start it up and check for any air leaks by listening for sucking noises around the box edges.

The kit even comes with a couple of natty stickers too, one of which sits perfectly on the front cover telling mechanics not to remove or throw the filter away (as it is cleanable)

Pics as always...you can always rely on me for those... Very Happy

Bigger versions in my gallery: Ignore the small black aerosol lid on the left hand back cover, that was my precautionary screw holder, however the screws remain in the housing

I've not been out in it yet, it was after fitting this that I first noticed the ding in my bonnet, I was so p*ssed off that I put it away in the garage for the rest of the day. It'll get tested soon L319 D4 HSE

Well, I've been out in the car for a shortish run, and so far I can't say that I notice any difference in sound/noise whatsoever. I wouldn't really expect it to though, afterall, this is just to allow the engine to breathe a little more easily as the concertina type paper filter can be restrictive.

I need to do a few more days with it before I make any conclusions, I certainly don't want to say after a short trip that there is NO difference, there has to be some, I just have yet to find it.

By the weekend I'll have covered some more miles, got my Friday airport run to do so that will allow me time to test it a little more.

Watch this space! L319 D4 HSE

Been out again..

Did some more local miles, not thrashing the car but putting my foot down a few times. Now, it could be that the car feels slightly different as I am bedding it in more and more, I'm still only at 1300 miles.

However, I think that the noise IS different, when standing still and blipping the throttle the lower revs sound more gruff than before. Certainly from driving around today, the car pulls smoothly (as it should be) and I may be wanting to think this, but it does feel like it picks up speed quicker and smoother.

Having never fitted performace mods to any car before I can't compare it to any previous experiences, but as I went through town and pushed on once or twice, it made me smile from ear to ear Laughing (even if all I can think about still is that dent Crying or Very sad ) L319 D4 HSE

can i ask how much the overfinch pipes cost you? I was talking to mark at overfinch california and he is telling me they won't sell just the tips that you would have to buy the whole exhaust. By the way he also stated that the exhaust doesn't give any performance upgrades just better sound. Seems a little crazy to pay $750 just for parts for better sound.
