Lift the bonnet. You'll know if you have one... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

We have both a MY11 D4 and a MY07 RRS. With the D4 last winter it was obvious when the FBH was running as the front of the car on a cold morning was enveloped in smoke. The RRS however has not exhibited the same telltale. The temperature has dropped to 2C and 3C on some mornings in the last week or so. I therefore figured that it should have kicked in.

But given it's a twin turbo TDV8, and I do tend to like the noise of the V8, I'm not sure the FBH would be loud enough.

Look for smoke under front bumper on cold mornings - got a bit of a shock until I read the book |

That's my point. On the D4 I saw the front of the car go up in smoke and is scared the be-jesus out of me (bought the car in January).

I have a RRS HSE 2008 And it has the FBH under the bonnet on right hand side. It is not mentioned in my handbook, as to what its operation is, and how to operate it. I have heard that it can be operated by remote control away from the car on a cold morning so as to have a warm car before getting into it. It also warms the water in the cooling system to warm engine before starting itisme |

My 2007 TDV8 has it fitted. There are no controls. The car decides if it's needed. No idea if mine is functional as we haven't had any cold weather since I bought the car in August... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
