You have got the ACM - the USB port is not where you connect the iPod to, there should be a separate lead for that.

Apple products do not work in the upper glove box usb port... non apple flash players do however... RRS gone

Ah. It all makes sense now. When I got the car it had an ipod cradle but I had it removed as it was right next to the steering wheel and I didn't like that. As I saw the USB connection in the glove-box I assumed I could plug my iPod into that so no issue (idiot I know).
