CALLING ALL UNHAPPY RANGE ROVER CUSTOMERS......

Well as you may know, that Ive been a bit quiet on here for a while after breaking down the last time, I have since indured what can only be described as car hell.

Issuing my dealer with a rejection letter, and being bullied into picking my car up from the service manager at the dealership. I actually broke down last week in tears and was physically sick. This has gone on too long now.

I had issued my initial rejection letter to them and they recieved it Recorded delivery last monday, they waited until 12pm on Friday (day i was leaving for a trip ) to contact me, making me miss one of my days of my trip. They said if i didnt get my car even though I was rejecting it, hed basically dump it on a street away from the dealership. Oh and they were going to charge me for the courtesy car. The DP had not contacted me as he was on his holidays in Egypt (lucky him, must be selling a few cars). SO, i find myself in an awkward position at the moment, as I have STILL not had an official letter back from them.
The DP just called me tonight to try to bully me again, he said that I was being unreasonable and that my rejection letter oesnt mean anything to them.
So Im onto my lawyer and seeking info from counsell. However, It seems ive thought, there are so many of us unhappy customers, I know so many people from here and from other social media sites that are unhappy.

I want to organise something perhaps a day trip to coventry. . . Any unhappy customers?

I dont want to post too much on here as Im aware that walls and forums have eyes, so Private Message me.

Sorry to go on, I know that some people are really happy with their cars. I so want to love me car. Thats if it doesnt break down again.

My car was picked up in April this year and is still under warranty ! The fault has re occured a few times in the LR stated 3 months rejection period and now it keeps happening. My lawyer says my case is strong and hopes that I will be offered resolution sooner rather than later !

Just seems that LAnd Rover dont want to talk to unhappy people. . The thing is Id buy another RRS straight away as I love it. But Id buy it from Lookers Park Royal, as the boys there seem to keep everyone happy !

Foxy, The man you need to try and contact is Jeremy Hicks he's just been appointed Managing Director, try phoning him or sending him a letter recorded delivery, He's a decent guy and will try and help if you can manage to get a letter to him - even ask your solicitor to send it to him recorded and ask that he responds PERSONALLY....

You may want to request that one of the field Managers from LR visits the dealership and meets with you to try and resolve? that way YOU are seen as being reasonable should the matter progress to court - you are showing that you were willing to give them a chance to repair / sort but only with the intervention of the manufacturer..

In addition the stealers cant tell you they have a time frame on rejection, if the goods are not of merchandable quality or fit for the purpose (i.e. it doesnt do what it should do) you have a case !
In the first instance against the stealer but LR will stand behind them and try to resolve should it get out of hand.

you have the right to ask for you money back or have a new car on the same year as you have got if they say no then office of fair tradeing and trading standers will get involved .
landrover will not like the public humilitly that they will put them through.
i would ask for all your money back as they cant fix this problem and go to another dealer and bye a rrs that u can have confidence in. V8 HSE CRUSADER 2008

Sorry to hear that foxy but I am fraid that in situations like these you are on your own and it is pointless to fight the dealer. I have had my car from new and broke down on the way from the dealer with a spanking new unregistered car twice Thumbs Up
Tried to resolve it number of times but all i achieved was that my car in the first couple of month was more at the dealer (germany) then with me. I was obviiously driving various courtesy cars at LR costs. When i had enough of it i searched the dealer network and found one who was willing to take the issue up and managed to work with LR to repair my car - big credit to Marshal in Lincoln. Ever since i have had no issue what so ever...

I know someone had problems with vw r32 and it took years but they got refund and compensation out of court in the end just before final judgement so it would not be reported - Vw even took car away for inspection and kept it 18 months without offering a courtesy car Evil or Very Mad

I too have had issues with RRS after years of solid dependable LR's but have decided to stick with it until warranty expires then probably trade in but I dont know what I will get next Big Cry

I have used Lr customer service to resolve a few issues but it does not always work Crying or Very sad

I hope you get sorted Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

9 times out of 10 the dealer is either the failure of or success of the experience - LR customer service isnt the focus its the dealer.

Ive experience bad and appalling - and good (the current dealer) but as I pointed out to them, thats why i take the car then when i have to pay (only for a service) as well as warranty work Mike
