Hi. i have just joined club fooked alternator(already amember of club fooked turbo)
Since i have had the new alternator fitted the heated seats wont work, is this because the battery charge level is not as high as it should be or do i have yet more problems.

Had the same problem last Xmas new alternator/battery fitted and and the problem disapeared
it seems the car does shut things down as the battery voltage drops.

You don,t say whether you have had a battery fitted, but the one we had fitted at xmas failed three or four months later

Might have been a bad batch

Hopfully nothing more serious than that

Not had new battery fitted yet but am having one fitted on Tuesday,hopefully that will solve the problem.

Well hopefully that's a bit of good news then.

Have a good shop about for your battery (there is a surprising verity in prices) and get as High an output as you can get to fit in the space under the bonnet.

Watch out too, some batteries come with longer warranties than others.

Just got back with new battery fitted(genuine) the seats work now but now stereo says low power mode and picture of a battery.....................one thing after the other, any ideas?

Just had a search through some old threads,it seems the vast majority of low power mode probs are caused by the alternator/battery saga.

Have you taken the you RRS for a good run since the battery was fitted (to get it fully charged up)?
