you can't drink on tarmac with the chains on, they need a cushion of snow to protect them to some degree

So you'll be stopping and starting taking on and off in the wet and bitter cold of winter

did you have a problem last year of something? I drove fine with my road biased tyres in snow mode without ever getting stuck

i only purchased my car in jan this year once all the snow had cleared, but reading other member's posts im getting slightly concerned that im not going to be able to drive in the snow.

Mine was absolutely fine in the snow last year, as nick has said, snow chains are only really suited for very deep compacted snow, not suitable for use on the roads really. The biggest issue I had was getting cold hands whilst clearing the 8 inches of snow off my bonnet before setting off in the morning Thumbs Up

You can use the terrain response and it will get you most places in the snow/wet grass mode, if you do start to lose traction just put it in 'mud ruts' or for desperate times 'sand' mode with low range Thumbs Up

I parked my FL2 on my parking spot outside the office last year and it might have slipped and slide a little but it still came out, and that was on compacted snow which had turned to ice

Normal roads, slower than normal speed in the snow you'll be fine, you just have to remember 4x4 can go, but they still stop like any other car, too much speed or heavy breaking will cause you issues

plenty of room in the boot for a emergency supply of nappies and wipes if you do get stuck

The problem is its the other non educated, non Land Rover owners who will get you stuck on you way home, by abandoning their cars in the middle of the road

Also I think there are summer tyres and summer tyres with the crapinentals generally being accepted by most owners as the poorest in the snow. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
