Winter Tyres

New RRS 2012 in 7 days ... just can't wait....3.0 HSE Arctic / nero / piano..
Live in the pyranees and first snow fell last night.....
First job next week will be to look at switching to winter tyres....
20 inch rims... any suggestions as to brand / previous experience with them greatly appreciated....

I saw LR are developing tyres with metal studs that come out on the touch of a button.... great idea but prob not out for a few yrs yet !!

They are not winter tyres though are they? I've heard reports they can be quite dangerous in ice and would only be good in fresh snow. I didn't put mine on last winter. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

I think ice will knacker you either way. I know what I'll be putting on in November ready for the snow! ============

Yep still the X5. Really happy with it except the fuel costs. I'm not expecting it to be any good in the snow! Have you got a new Supercharged yet Very Happy ? WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Did I miss the post about that and with pics? Wink

Depends how many miles you do but at the moment I'm spending £140 a week on fuel out of my own pocket which is pushing me to get a more economical car! WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award

Hello andman
I have recently had vredestein wintracs fitted, excellent in snow, and you can use them all year round. cost around £210 a corner. the compound stays flexible even at low temps, and have multiple trade awards and do sell very well across the alps

Thank you very much.... the two names that kept coming up well recommend were Pirelli scorpion ice and snow.... and Vredestein wintracs...... so it'll be whichever the dealers here can get quickest or have in stock...

Thanks again for the advice

Spain 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

Hey Andman

I live in Barcelona and am looking to get a set of 275/40/20 wintrac extremes. The cheapest online i have found is from http://www.neumaticos-online.es/ at 295eur per tyre. Have you looked in Andorra and found them any cheaper?

I am always there or in La Molina/Massella skiing over the winter so probably see you at some point.

Cheers
