Two big hanging and swinging weights?

What purpose do the two big cast lumps of iron do at the back just inside the bumpers. Seem to swing freely?

Just wax oiled the car and noticed them.

Wax oiling has reduced all the clonking and squeeking. (highly recommend the stuff)

They are vibration dampers, Fitted to reduce harmonic vibrations from certain components. Usually found on things like diffs, silencers, gearboxes etc. Very Happy
