2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Battery Location

lo all,

I want to do a hard reset on my sport to try and clear a suspension fault?

Where is the battery located? Am I OK to just disconnect the battery, I am worried it might upset the stereo or any settings etc?

Do I need to disconnect both terminals?

Thanks

James

Wait at least 2 minutes for the electronics to shut down.
And while you're at it, no harm in disconnecting both terminals! Wink Malaysia Boleh!

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Java Black

When I had a slight issue at the start of the year when the car went in to limp mode (didn't use it for a couple of weeks) and LR Assist came out they connected the + and - together after removing from the battery for a couple of minutes, they said this was a "hard reset"? It's been fine ever since Thumbs Up

Well I have disconnected my battery today for 5 mins to try and do a hard reset in the hope of clearing this intermittent suspension fault.

Any ideas what it could be? It comes on intermittent while driving. I know the compressor is working because if I turn the engine off and on I can lower and lift the suspension with no problems.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

James

Hello,

There are no other symptoms the car seems to be running OK, nothing else obvious.

The error on the dash is "suspension fault, access height only." However this comes on randomly at any point, sometimes straight away or sometimes after 15 mins. If I turn the engine off and back on it will clear the fault and I can lower and lift the suspension.

Regards,

James

No it isnt linked it braking, you can just be driving a long and it just pops up on the dash.

Like I say sometimes its a minute after starting the engine, other times you can be 30 mins into the journey.

You need to get the fault code read and cleared properly, rather than just carrying on driving it. Give Armson AE in Syston a call, he'll read it for not many £'s and likely be able to sort it.
