Quite right too, if they are that inefficient in the first instant
why would you want to let them loose on the vehicle to do yet
more damage, if they advertise a proffessional service then that's
what you should get first time every time Embarassed

When it comes to something like this they should get right first time, maybe you might have an issue with something but by the sounds of it this guy just didn't understand what level of service he should have been doing and what steps.

Also they have used a subcontractor due to timescales, obviously one that is no where near their level of work, obviously IMO they tried to pull a fast one using a guy who knows as much as a polish drive in car washer

I hope they do sort it out and a post can be done to update it

+1. too many businesses in the uk get away with crappy work, mainly because people don't complain or shout loud enough, if this was Mr Clarksons car it would have been right of they know the fallout would be huge, well welcome to the t'internet, a very very loud voice if your not happy ...

they are trying to make it right which is something, so lets see/hope they can Thumbs Up

+1. They messed up. They've been told they messed up. They say they are going to sort it. They have an oppourtunity to salvage the situation and regain faith in the product. So long as the outcome is posted I really don't see a problem.

It isn't always that things go wrong it is how companies react when they are told things have gone wrong. If this firm get it right then they could get a lot more buisness from it as we would know that if they mess up they will sort it.

Time will tell. I look forward to the updates and good luck.

Richard

I would like to think that if i detailed somebodies car, and got it correct then they would post on here what an amazing job etc.

However, would you rather not be made aware of a firm that are claiming to detail your precious car but ballsing it up?

I say id rather know. If they put it right Ady then :thumbsup:and then you can write a review of the owners/boss's attitude/overall result .... The point is at least you all know that this service was less than perfect immediately. One can only imagine if youd paid for something that involved him actually using the wrong disc on his polisher machine.... ARGHHH

Im looking forward to hearing how you get on with the chap this week.

Foxy ! Smile

honestly Ady, when they did mine about 18months ago it was absolutely spotless. i am probably the fussiest person ever with the paintwork on my car without question and i was impressed.

i cant apologise enough.

and its nothin to do with kahn standars you know lol.

i show my car at all the big vw meets and shows and i never fail to get good comments.

I have to laugh when people actually consider sending a car to get paint correctiob on a Range Rover of all things for £100 it is pure madness. price is one warning if its cheap its cheap for a reason. In truth IF they are insured then it works out at about £20 per vehicle. then heat light products machinery etc etc. will total say £30

so in actual fact they will be making £50 for doing your car that equates to between 2-4 hour MAXIMUM. would you do a full day for £100 even not me thats for sure. it costs a minimum of £200 a day for a reputible business to even break even when detailing but there are plenty out there coining in on it as well. If you want it detailed put your hand in your pocket and pay for it dont mess about or unfortunitly as the saying goes pay cheap pay twice. I would say 1/4 of my business is fixing cars that have been hacked by other "detailers" I have just had an audi a6 allroad detailed by a guy he removed over half the paint and nearly all of the clear coat plus he burnt through a plastic arch and I had to repaint it was a costly lesson thats for sure. to be honest if it was £100 then it will be no better than a valet and if you want more I feel that it is unfair of you to chase it to be honest.

to give you an idea of what detailing is. an enhancement consists of
Wash stage and decontamination 2-4 hours.

Single stage machine polish and application of wax or other final coating 2-3 hours

Interior clean dress of plastics and glass, engine bay dressed and wheel arches dressed 1-2 hours.

approx 8 hours and £250+ that is a mimimum you need to be looking at any less and the guy is not putting the hours in .

we have had cars that have had up to 200 hours spent in returning them to pristine condition.

I know Iain and he is a decent guy who does an amazing job check out Detailing World as well for others in your area!
