Not much wrong with caravans as long as they are driven properly ! ie at road speed and not taken down silly back lanes !
I've got a Swift Conqueror 655 Lux, which is huge but tows great, proper single beds for the kids at the back and a decent bathroom, no cramped corners..........Go big or go home I think the saying goes ! which is fine if you have somewhere to put such a large van.... as for the derisory anti-caravan comments Censored Sheep Sheep Sheep 08 2.7 RRS "S"

If you're only in Malmesbury I'd take a trip down the M5 to Highbridge Caravans, massive stock of every possible permutation of layout & brand down there. Although we didn't buy ours from there it did confirm exactly which one we were going to get.

Nearer to you is where we ended up buying from, Chipping Sodbury Caravans. Nice bunch to deal with and we ended up with a stunning deal on a Bailey Senator Indiana. Such a good deal in fact that 12 months later I've just sold it for not far off what we paid for it Thumbs Up

The RRS should barely notice the van's behind you, certainly the only time I did was 2 weeks ago when it told me the rear dampers were knackered Laughing Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.

Will do Mike cheers Thumbs Up

I love the exterior "look" of the 2008-2009 Elddis Superstorms but the interior fabric is not so pleasing!

Typically the 2010 superstorm has nicer internals, but also 2k over budget Big Cry RRS gone

Only by a concertina type curtain mate, so it would probably curtail your nocturnal jiggy jigs, mind you most caravan doubles are'nt exactly over built, same as on the boat, had to do a "little bit of carpentry" after Dartmouth a few years ago Whistle Thumbs Up 08 2.7 RRS "S"

Bailey Caravan

awd man - The Bessecar & Luna Delta are upmarket and nice vans.

Lady Bailey Caravans are not far away at Winterbourne Whitechurch, Dorset - www.ladybaileycaravans.co.uk

I have bought two large twin axle vans from them and they have been very competative. Earlier reply about visiting dealers and viewing as many vans as possible is right and don't rush. Sit in van and go through it as if you were living in it! Particularly at mealtimes and bed times with the kids. Even make the beds up to judge ohow easy or difficult it may be?

Some vans allow you to shut off areas but remember that you still have to reach the facilities without waking the kids.

I have towed caravans since 1980 and my RR Sport is the best towcar yet! Towing 33.50 cwt loaded twin axle returned 18.5mpg on present trip to Cornwall in heavy rain and blustery conditions.

With 3 Labradors (way past kids now) we always use the van in UK and previously abroad - great relaxing way to get away from it all - even if I am replying to you on my laptop now!

Good luck and if need any further info PM me by all means!

Sit up against the front windows in all the ones you like, we found quite a few where sitting close up to the windows highlighted how steeply raked the front was, actually made you feel like you were having to bend over slightly when sat. It also shortened the front of the van at head height. That extra few inches can make all the difference Laughing Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange !
