2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
6 berth or large 4 berth Tin Tent recommendations

I've been borrowing my parents 510/4 Challenger for a couple of years now, and the time has come to invest in our own van. (It's too small for 4 of us (2 toddlers, 2.5 years and 16 months)

Budget is £11-15k

After a couple of months of gathering spec's etc my shortlist is:

2005 Bessacar 635
2009 Lunar Delta TL
2009 Lunar Quasar 615
2010 Lunar Lexon

The Delta and Bessacar both have single beds in the rear, where as the quasar has fixed bunks. Plus the interior on the 1st two is more plush.

Has anyone who's gone down this route before got any recommendations on the better layout (bunks of singles)

Has anyone got another marque of van they'd recommend? RRS gone

I'm a caravanner and proud of it Twisted Evil

I have a Sterling Europa 535, 6 berth, (double bed up front, fixed rear bunks, side dinette that makes into a bunk bed) 4 years of trouble free 'vanning

I have a 2 year old (bottom bunk) and a 5year old (top bunk) who is a stocky young lad, if he needs the loo on a night lifting him down is becoming quite a struggle as at 2am they are never fully awake to climb down ladders, so bear this side of things in mind.

Also have a look at Bailey caravans, A friend we met whilst away bought a Olympus 546 6 berth, said the dealer is was brand new £16K+ and they got it for £13k, It was bright, airy and the lay out with the end triple bunk, and side table with wall mounted LCD TV was a great place for he kids to escape (or them to escape the kids)

Some of the newer 'van also are wider since the laws changed too

keep money to one side for a motor mover too Thumbs Up

My advice though, is visit as many different brands as you can and sit in as many different ones as possible, some look great on paper, but in the flesh they are not great

cheers Nick Thumbs Up

I must admit I'd not looked closely at the Sterling or Baileys so will do some more research.

Yes, motor movers are a must..especially with the twin axle vans RRS gone

good time to buy too, as the caravan shows are looming and the last season stock must go, but if you can stretch to brand new then deals can be done at the shows which are good, I got a great trade in value and extras thrown in when i did my swap over a few years back

When looking at the 'vans I would also look at cupboard space, for a 6 berth mine is very low on cupboards and I have to resort to a small wardrobe/shelf in the awning.

I dont get what the need for a motor mover is Question Iv'e had 2 TA and never needed a mover. Unless you really struggle going backwards or need to get in a really tight space for storage I would save your money to put into the Van, but as Npinks says try as many vans as you can cause the layouts vary massively and so does the build quality. Thumbs Up I've just got the new Swift conqurer 645 TA slide out island bed for the grown ups and huge double for the kids at the front . Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.
Here 110 black edition defender.
