what happens when you turn the ignition on ?

is it totaly dead or is there a heavy clicking sound?

is the engine turning over (spinning round!)?

also can you lock and unlock the doors with the remote?

cheers Kiel

I'm certain somebody reported a similar fault last year and it turned out to be something worn in the gear selector mechanism - something like a linkage worn or slipped, selector was moving but not actually doing anything............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

AA in the USA is probably more associated with drinking. Seriously there can be enough juice in your battery to open doors, turn radio & lights on but not turn the engine. If you have time try recharging the battery and see what results you get. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
