Guy's,

I have to travel to Scotland for a family funeral next week and considering taking the beast instead of the wife's mini cooper s. Having never taken the RRS on such a long run before, I have no idea how much it would cost me in fuel.

I will have 656 miles each way to travel, most of which will be on Motorways and duel carriageways. Working on a average speed of 65-70 MPH for better fuel consumption, would any of you out there be able to tell me what sort of miles per gallon I would get and how much roughly on today's currant fuel prices it would cost me?

Almost forgot to say I have a 2.7TD6.

Many thanks Confused Confused

Driving at that speed you should get there within the week!

Nowt wrong with the 2.7. Many of the original members here had them because it was the only option apart from the S/C. Yes they were slower than the S/C but they weren't THAT bad. I ran one for nearly 3 years and it seemed to get me from one end of the country to the other perfectly well sat at the speed limit smoothly, quietly and with acceptable economy. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yep, I agree. I had a 2.7 for 2 years and it was a great car. Loads of torque and the performace was fine. OK it wasn't a blistering speed merchant off the line, but my boy racer days are well behind me Whistle so I didn't really care whether I could burn off another car at the lights or not. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Good Point AndyCh Thumbs Up They are horrible little blighters Evil or Very Mad The best product for keeping them at bay is Avon's Skin So Soft ...... So good that it's what a lot of the Special Forces use rather than other products like Jungle Formula etc. Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
