England 2008 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HST Santorini Black
A newbie from Wiltshire.

Hi,

I would like to introduce myself as a newbie.

I have worked abroad for the last 35 years so have driven/been driven in numerous Land Rovers.

For the last 15 years I have owned five various Discoveries and have had virtually no problems with them at all. So much for the bad press.

Due to ill health I have just had to sell my aluminium bodied RAM Cobra which broke my heart.

For the last three years I have worked in Qatar and a couple of friends had the Sport HST which was quite impressive so I think that it is time I traded in my Disco for one.

I would like to spend around 30k for an HST with less than 40k on the clock and my preferred colour would be black with ivory interior. I just missed one which ticked all the boxes in Manchester yesterday.

Having had diesels for the last 15 years then I was thinking of the 3.6, but I see that the 4.2 petrol models are a lot cheaper so may be a better buy as I do a max of 8k/year.

I worked out that at 8k miles/year then the 4.2 would cost me an extra £815/year in fuel.

1) How much extra would the road tax and insurance be for the petrol v diesel.
2) I see the 0-60 time for the diesel is 8.6 seconds but can’t find the time for the 4.2.

If I went the diesel route then I would probably get it chipped.

So what should I go for.

Any black on ivory HST's coming up for sale.

Cheers

Rob 2008 Black Range Rover Sports HST, 4.2 Supercharged.

RAM Cobra, Aluminium body, 7 litres and +500 BHP - SOLD

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Hi and welcome to the site and welcome back to England, i'm afraid it down to personal choice, people who run a diesel will say the 3.6 V8 is the one to get and the people running the 4.2 petrol will say its the best, Rolling Eyes the 0-60 time for the 4.2 is 7.2 seconds Thumbs Up

Think the SC was 7.6 seconds. For the amount of mileage I'd go SC myself. Welcome to the forum. Thumbs Up
