What did you have before RRS

Hope this hasn't been done to death before, but new here and wondering what folk have had before current RRS. My list is;

Cortina Mk1 - great at the time except I really wanted a Lotus (Jim Clark) Cortina which was out of my solar system
Escort Mk1 1.1 - absolute nightmare, dull, dull and double dull
Cortina Mk3 2.0 - looked american, but felt Dagenham
Capri Mk2 1.6S - Gold and pretty OK at the time
Capri Mk2 3.0S - the professionals
Capri Mk2 3.0S - the professionals (again)
Capri Mk3 2.8i - went like lightening, according to the TV ads
Capri Mk3 2.8i - yep I liked Capri's
Manta HTE - white, fishermans friend in these parts
Cavalier GTI - 4 blokes in it seemed an invitation for being pulled over
Astra GTE - small with weird digital instruments
Vectra 2.5 - white, and was great for getting past others cause they thought you were the constabulary
Vectra 2.5 GSI - black, not as good for clearing traffic as the white one
Vectra 2.6 GSI - an imaginative choice after 2 before
EVO 8 - the Canines Cahonas
BMW 3 series 2.5 - dead dull especuially after the EVO
BMW M3 - An improvement over the 2.5 to say the least
BMW M3 - Phoenix Yellow, had it 40 months, loved it to bits even if some thought the colour was a bit obvious
RRS HST 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey, a contrast to previous, but getting to really like it

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

In order:-

Honda 125cc Superdream TT. It was red & Black and it meant freedom, till I threw it down the road and killed it.
Ducati Monster M600 Yellow. Loved the twin.
Ford Mondeo 2.0L. Horrid commuter car to get me from home to work in the winter.
Suzuki Bandit 1200cc. Wheelie machine and £2000 worth of extras and a Gold on Red flame paint job means I am an attention seeking moron, still got the bike after 12 years though so guess that says more about my maturity level more than ever Confused
Nissan 350z Sunset Orange. Great wee speed demon.
RRS TDV8 Black. No idea what I'd get next, a year and a half of joy and I cant see past it for anything better.

Bulllet Thumbs Up RRS TDV8 (loving it)
Suzuki Bandit 1200 (For when the suns out)
Nissan 350z GONE

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography Nara Bronze

Ok Here goes,

Ford Escort MKII, it was white and had air con, well it had holes in the floor! I covered it in Sport stickers and stripes then smashed it up one day pretending to be a Rally Driver (I was 17 at the time OMG 23 years ago now)

Then I got a Ford Cortina estate car, it was massive and with the rear seats down you could almost hold a party in the back, it was my passion waggon, Whistle

I then got a Ford Capri, it was a standard 1.6s and I smashed that up one day as well, a country road, a large china sink and a hedge sealed it's fate.

I then had a Vauxhall Cavalier, it was only 2 years old and I had to get a bank loan for it, loved that car and kept it 4 years before selling it on.

I then got my first Land Rover, a Series 2 LWB with canvas top that leaked. It had no heater, no radio and drank fuel, I was mad buying it but I did really enjoy owning it, had to sell it for a mortgage deposit for my house.

Now owning a house i had very little money so bought a Vauxhall Chevette as a stop gap, horrid car

When the Chevette died I bough a very cheap crappy polo, only had it a few weeks, hated the dam thing more than the Chevette.

Saved some money by then and bought another Vauxhall Cavalier, I had that for another 6 months until I could afford something better.

I then bought a Rover 216, despite what everyone seems to think of them I quite liked it as it had some quite good toys on it for the time.

I then had my first company car, a Ford Mondeo, it was modern, almost new and was a great drive, had that for a year and then got given a new Ford Escort which I had for another 18 months.

As I was doing a lot of company miles I was then given a budget to buy a car of my choice and I went for a Ford Focus, this was when they first came out and it was one of the nicest cars I had driven to date

When I left that company the Focus went back and I had to buy my own car again, so I boughty another Vauxhall Cavalier, the last shape one, I was working for myself then so funds were again tight for a while.

After a few months I got myself a Rover Fastback, big heavy car but it was top of the range and cheap so it done the trick for a while.

I then had a 2002 Ford Mondeo, it was almost brand new and I really liked that car, never missed a beat.

I then made my return to Land Rover with a Freelander facelift, it was 3 yrs old and was the 2004 facelift model, I was earning some better money then and it was the first newish car I had bought outright for cash.

I kept the Freelander until 2 years ago and then got a D3, really enjoyed the D3 but now I have just got myself into my current RRS 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

1987 >>>>>
Ford Fiesta XR2 Mk 1 A reg (blue) - i was 18 and a boy racer - learned about servicing cars

Fiat Uno turbo i.e. E reg (jade green) - quick and light (not quite the Renault 5 GT turbo)

Yamaha 125 - taught myself to ride

1990>>>>>>>
VW Golf GTi Mk II C reg (white) - great little car especially once the spark plugs were replaced

BMW 323i Mk II C reg (white) - great little exec car which had co-incidentally been owned by my step father 2 owners previously

1993>>>>>
VW Golf GTi Mk II Big Bumpers J reg (oak green) - 'BBS' alloys - the mutts nuts - 'stolen recovered' history but bought for £6k and sold 2 years later (with full history explained) for £6k - fantastic

BMW 535i G reg (blue) - sold a pup from a non independent dealer in Wood Green, paintwork not matching - needed new exhaust, pads and discs - still I learnt how to change these myself with pattern parts and saved a fortune over dealer prices

Saab 900 N reg (dark green) - quick car - had a prang (my fault) and insurance paid out in full despite limited front end damage

BMW 323 R reg (silver) - looked good and did it's job

2001>>>>>>
BMW 320i cab 51 reg (black) - first company car and brand new car experience - great car; bought from Leaseplan at end of 2 years at their price and immediately flipped it to an independent dealer on Harrow on the Hill for a £3k profit

Kawasaki 636 Ninja 52 plate (silver) - first big bike after passing big bike test

Yamaha R1 03 plate? (silver) - awesome power - often commuted 70 miles a day

Honda Accord 53 plate (silver) - another new company car - loved the design and sport style when i first saw it and traded down from BM as buying a house - decent car

2006>>>>>>
VW Golf V5 Mk III 52 plate (black) - very well specc'd with black leather, s/roof, xenons - had been repaired (cat C?) so cheap and turned out to be reliable and a good buy for the 2 or so years I owned it. Bought as a second car as I was planning to buy a Porsche

Suzuki GSX-R 750cc 08 plate? (black) - great looking bike and noise but hardly used

Suzuki Bergman 400cc 55 plate (blue) - great commuter bike although battery kept going flat and you can't jump start so RAC often called and also near impossible to remove back wheel when tyre needs changing!

2006>>>>>
Porsche 997 C2S Coupe 54 plate (black) - one of my childhood iconic cars - very well specc'd and ca 1 year old when bought - owned for about 18 months - left me stranded when the gear cable broke near Hayes and I had to be towed - probably then started thinking about changing

Yamaha R1 08 plate (graphite grey) - beautiful bike but hardly used and too fast for me

2008>>>>
RRS TDV8 57 plate (black) - fantastic car and practically drove itself home; changed the Supercharged wheels for Stormer replicas and the front end balance was never right - owned for about 9 months

BMW Z4 3.0 cab 54 plate (black) and M6 wheels and hard top - great looking car especially with M6 alloys; nice noise and red leather interior. Didn't like the fact that it was an auto though

Honda S2000 56 plate (black) - always loved these cars with the engine that revs to ca 9,000 RPM. This had black and red leather interior and just 2,500 miles as it was hardly used. When I was looking for the RRS, I had one of these on loan from Honda and drove about 500 miles on one sunny Sunday and loved it.

2009>>>>>>
Jaguar XK-R 4.2 Supercharged cab 58 plate (black/ ivory) - traded the TDV8 plus Honda S2000 for this car having bought it as a 40th birthday present for myself. Fantastic looking car with awesome acceleration. A real GT but hardly used - owned for 2 years and did 5-6k miles in it. Now on sale at HA Fox, Guildford.

Yamaha TMAX 500cc 09 plate (black) Current - probably best looking scooter and great for commuting to office and station; under seat storage a bit lacking - top speed ca 110mph

Moto Guzzi Griso 59 plate (black) Current - great looking Italian styling; still need to put it through its first service so I can properly open it up!!

2011>>>>>>
Porsche Boxster S 57 plate (black) Current - was thinking about going back to an S2000, however I bought my RRS from a Porsche independent and this was in the showroom. Absolutely love it (2 weeks in) - love the styling, sound, road holding and performance. On the downside I got minimal spec (esp. compared to the 997 i used to own) but that was reflected in the price

RRS Supercharged 05 plate (black) Current - it feels like 'coming home' and I'm so pleased to have an RRS again. Looking forward to taking it to Ireland at the end of the month. A bit hesitant about buying an older car but having lost so much in depreciation over recent years, I think it's a sensible move - have just bought a private plate RR51 @@@ and looking forward to giving a full clean this weekend Thumbs Up

Vauxhall Cavalier - for the motorway miles running around the country whilst i was a bailiff

Vauxhall Vectra 2.2 DT SRi - Company car for running round the town with better mpg

Kia Sportage 2.0 CRDi XS - Caravan towing machine , Top of the range, all the trimming (had just less than 2 months when it had a motorbike land on its dashboard)

Got Kia Sportage back and had it for a while, until a transit van ripped the front end off whilst it was parked

Freelander 2 SE manual - Great car, but had a few niggles

Freelander 2 HSE Auto - fantastic car, no major issues, still got a years warranty left so looks like it will be with me a little longer

Next if the wallet will stretch that far.......... most likely a Disco4 then with the trading up i might get that RRS
