Yes, they have definately overfilled it, it has happened to me also. I used a thin plastic tube down the dipstick tube, and a syringe to suck the extra LITRE of oil out of mine, as I don't think it does any engine good to have any excess pressure created in the crankcase, and can cause oil seals /gaskets to be damaged and leak,not to mention more drag on the crank etc. If you are near the dealer that did it, get them to do it. (In my case by the time I noticed it,the dealer had closed for the evening,and I was using the car on a longish trip the next day and didn't want to risk it). Depends how far up the level is I suppose, but I don't think mine was quite as far up as half way between the correct (arrowed) ball and the one above. Never ceases to amaze me, so called 'Premium Brand' vehicles, yet there are so many careless, incompetent people working in LR dealerships, (and the factory), for that matter.
