With the price of domestic gas going up by 19% soon would it be possible to pay £k's on your gas bill and wait until the increase and then ask for a refund at the new rate? If so a 19% return on your money would be achievable. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

gas company's pay for their gas in advance , so what you pay today is what they have paid ages ago... |

But when you get a bill you pay for the units used, if as most your bill is estimated you could phone your gas company up with your own marked up reading, pay the bill that comes and then in 6 months when the domestic gas price has risen by 19% phone up again with a new reading which would give you a credit of units used, claim a refund and get 19% on the money you paid 6 months earlier. Is that too simplistic? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If you prove false meter readings what are the legal implications?

When i moved into my house many moons ago, the builders read the electric meter and wrote it on a bit of paper as builders do, it was reading 696, when they informed the enegry company of the reading he read it upside down 969 which the building company then paid |
