The unit has 3 channels for TV or the like! The button is to switch them or have the camera on at all times!! It also does remote switch when put in reverse!! If it aint broke leave it!

The unit has a dedicated reversing cam feed input (plus the other 3 AV ones) and reversing light +12v feed which you connect to the reversing lights, this allows the unit to automatically switch the display to the reversing camera when reverse is selected.

The below link is the for the forumn discount for the unit AND a reversing camera for £249.

I have to say the D3 site is a bloody good source of information, even if you dont have a D3!
Hope this helps

Hello,

i bought the same camera but now i'm confused on how to pass the wires up the rear window...
there's no plastic trim to hide them in, just a small tube (?) running along the side of the window where i assume are located the light and tailgate switch wires. It looks glued to the window and i don't want to damage it.

Did you manage to pass your camera cables in there? any advice on how to do it?

Thanks

Hi all, i had a few hours today so i fitted this, the hard part is getting the cables from the tail gate and finding a live from the sat nav unit, all in all a great job even though it took me 5 hours to complete once i'd got my head around the wiring Shocked Thumbs Up
I'd recommend this in a flash, i just need to tidy the cables and add a Ipod cable now Mr. Green

Both will work, but if you have a GVIF unit you will only need the ccd as the GVIF has a parking line option,I fitted a unit and camera on mine last week ,a great bit of kit Thumbs Up

Yes, there is only one way. Drill a small hole in the plastic where the number plate lights are and run the cable through it (you will have to cut the AV one)
I have a special 2 core + shield cable I use so there only needs to be one cable. It then goes around the outside of the ridge that you see when you lift the upper tailgate, using double sided automotive tape, then it needs to go through the rubber grommet, then it also needs to be fed through the tailgate main rubber grommet and then into the car itself.
It is a real pain to do and can take a while to get it right. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

thanks for the replies. I had a very good idea that you could not hide the wires , it would be a Censored looking job.
